Poem "My Son"

posted in: Stories | 0

My son is like yours.
I love him as much as you love your son.
I watched him grow,
I went to his school plays,
I took him to church.
He played in the mud,
He picked my flowers,
He looked like an angel when he slept.
He became a teenager
He met a girl.
She was younger than he was;
Her parents found out.
My son is in jail.
My son’s life is ruined,
Potential cut away because he was one year too old.
I love my son.
He is a labeled a “sex offender.”
My son is like yours,
And yours could be like mine.
